ABOUT ME

Jessica Barberi

Postpartum & Breastfeeding Educator

The birth of my first son in 2017 brought immense joy, but it also revealed how unprepared I was for the postpartum journey that lay ahead. The challenges I encountered with breastfeeding, the late-night Google searches about my changing body, and the lack of immediate support left me feeling overwhelmed and lost. It became apparent that the postpartum period was often overlooked and underserved. I asked myself "why are women not adequately prepared for this crucial phase of motherhood?" Motivated by this personal experience, I embarked on a journey of research and exploration, all driven by a burning desire to shed light on this often overlooked period of women's lives.

Now the mother of three, I have gained invaluable insights and a firsthand understanding of the complexities of fresh motherhood. Complementing my personal experiences, I have also pursued education as a postpartum doula and breastfeeding educator. My mission is to share this wealth of knowledge as well as offer compassionate support to help ease the transition from pregnancy to motherhood, bringing more joy and empowerment to those around me.

Through Cradle and Blossom, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive guidance and nurturing care, helping mothers navigate the beautiful yet challenging journey of welcoming a baby into their lives. Together, let us create a community where mothers feel empowered, educated, and deeply supported during this transformative time.

MY APPROACH

Health, Movement, Wellbeing

I created Cradle & Blossom because I believe women deserve a positive transition to mothering our new babies. It is my hope that by equipping women with practical tools and knowledge, and by ensuing they have the physical and mental support they need during this transformative period, they will find more joy than they do sorrow in those early days. My aim is to empower mothers to build a strong network and prepare their environment so that they can ensure their unique postpartum needs are met and their recovery is not impeded.

My education and planning sessions offer in-depth insights into the changing postpartum body, providing mothers with a clear understanding of what to expect and how to best support their healing. Additionally, I emphasize the importance of setting realistic expectations for the weeks following birth, helping women, and their family navigate this period with confidence and self-assurance.

When it comes to breastfeeding, our gentle and natural approach centers around the belief that breastfeeding is an innate and natural process. We encourage new mothers to listen to their inner voice and trust their baby's instincts. I am not here to tell you what to do, rather I will act as a guide helping you through a medicalized system that often creates problems it then offset the solutions for to fix. I believe that with the proper preparation many issues women face can be avoided, and my role is to arm women with the confidence and knowledge to navigate the challenges they may encounter.

Through Cradle and Blossom, I am committed to providing mothers with the support, education, and tools they need to embark on their postpartum and breastfeeding journey with confidence, and empowerment, creating a strong foundation for their future as mothers.
